How We Harnessed SEO Optimisation in The First Six Months of a Client’s Site Launch

In November we reached our first milestone with our client Plumbers 365, reaching the 6 month point in our contract. This was a call for celebration as well as for a review and report of our joint achievements. At Method we value measurable, visible results, which is why we offer monthly reports as part of our marketing packages- and in Plumbers 365’s case an overall 6 month review too!

Here are the numbers: from just 43 users in their first 10 days, we reached over 300 monthly visitors by September. Then, after launching display ads, the active site users blew up to 5.3 thousand- that’s a 120x increase since publishing the site in May! As most new websites attract between 50-150 visitors per month in their first six months, it feels safe to conclude that our strategic, SEO focused, data-driven approach propelled this project well above the industry average.

Starting from scratch: the importance of a functioning, seamless website experience

As a business starting with no major website and web presence, our first step was to create a website that aligned with their brand and business values. Once the client was happy with their site, it was time to generate traffic- SEO optimisation entered the chat. The focus of SEO optimisation is to place your client’s site in front of the right audience that is most likely to convert to paying customers. In Plumbers 365’s case this meant people that are located in areas where they have plumbing specialists, and who have plumbing and drainage related queries or problems to fix. Therefore, our first focus was to generate location specific sites that would rank high in search engines.

SEO outputs: Why does your site’s rank in search engines matter?

Overall, Method’s SEO experts assembled 36 new SEO and AIO optimised blogs, 68 optimised service pages and 17 new location specific pages to cater to local customers. These allowed for the site to be more discoverable, and contributed greatly to the above average visitor metrics.

On the content front, our SEO specialists added to the existing content ecosystem to make the site more discoverable:

  • 36 SEO-optimized blogs to attract organic traffic
  • 68 optimized service pages to boost keyword visibility
  • 17 localized landing pages tailored to regional search intent

SEO as a foundation for organic growth

The graph below shows the power of SEO through new users acquired via organic search each month. We started December, with google ads turned off as Plumbers 365 used up their ad spend budget in November with their widely successful display ads. Yet the organic users kept climbing, as the site was still discoverable due to strong search engine rankings. This highlights the importance of strong SEO, as it can bring in customers without you spending extra money on ads.

Google Business Profiles
